Round 1

Cheick Kongo rocks Velasquez earlier, but he recovers and takes guard. Then Cain Velasquez gets side control and gets a choke. Then Kongo gets out of the choke and to his feet. Velasquez throws Kongo down and takes side control. Velasquez takes his back and lands some big shot. Right now Kongo is getting beat up. Then they stand up and Velasquez lands a nasty slam. The round finishes with Velasquez just overpowering Kongo.

Round 2

Kongo comes out again and lands a big shot, but he fails to knock him out. Kongo continues to get to close to Velasquez and it proves to be a horrible strategy for him. Velasquez again takes his back and continues to pound on him. The round continues with Kongo just getting beat on. Velasquez lands a nasty knee to the ribs. The fighters scramble and the round ends.

Round 3

Kongo comes out again and lands some nice punches. Then Kongo lands a big slam, but Velasquez takes his back. This looks like its going to be just like the other three rounds where Kongo starts early and then Velasquez just dominates him with his strength. They get back up and they exchange with Kongo getting the better. Then Velasquez takes it back down to the ground and pounds on Kongo until the end of the fight. Velasquez lands some big shots at the end.

Result: Velasquez wins by unanimous decision over Cheick Kongo.
