Round 1

Both fighters take their time to engage and measure each other up. They exchange some shots but Silva looks to be loading up for a big shot. Franklin lands a nice combo and then with a kick. Silva responds with a few kicks of his own. Silva catches a kick and takes Franklin down. Franklin dodges a punch and rolls out to his feet. Then Franklin mounts him, but Silva quickly gets back to his feet. Silva is cut on his nose, but nothing severe.

Franklin tells his corner he thinks he broke Silva’s nose. Why does Rich always have black-eye on his left eye?

Round 2

Both fighters are cautious at the beginning of the round. Then they begin to exchange. Franklin catches Silva and it knocks him down, but he quickly gets to his feet. Franklin starts to open up and pick apart Silva. Then Silva lands a big shot and is on the attack. Then Franklin returns the favor with a big kick. Both guys end the 2nd round of an exciting fight. Both fighters are exhausted.

Round 3

They touch hands at the start of the round. Joe Rogan just mentioned that Silva had to cut 12 pounds yesterday to make weight. Both fighters do little and then Franklin lands a kick on Silva’s “man area.”

They are both swinging for the fences with a few minutes left. Silva waves his hands to try and get the crowd fired up. Silva is looking to win this fight as Franklin is cautious. Silva ends the last minute swinging for the fences and then Franklin throws him down. Silva gets back to his feet and lands some elbows behind his back on Franklin.

I would have to say this might have to be a draw. Neither fighter proved to me they won that fight.

Result: Rich Franklin wins by unanimous decision over Silva.
