The Face of Women’s MMA Gets Bloodied
Last night’s Strikeforce event didn’t disappoint other than some of the fights were over a little too quickly. And other than the fact that “Cyborg” lived up to her name while sporting at least a 22″ neck (as seen in the above video), I started thinking what a possible Lyoto Machida vs. Gegard Mousasi matchup would be like. But alas, that’s a world we do not live in.
For those of you who are just waking up from being passed out since 10pm last night, the results are below.
– ”Cyborg” Santos defeats Gina Carano by TKO – round 1 @ 4:59
– Gegard Mousasi defeats Renato “Babalu” Sobral by TKO – round 1 @ 1:00
– Gilbert Melendez defeats Mistsuhiro Ishida by TKO – Round 3 @ 3:56
– Fabricio Werdum defeats Mike Kyle by guillotine choke – round 1 @ 1:24
– Jay Hieron defeats Jesse Taylor by unanimous decision
– Scott Lighty defeats Mike Cook by TKO – round 1 @ 2:05
– Justin Wilcox defeats David Douglas by rear-naked choke – round 3 @ 3:16
– James Terry defeats Zak Bucia by TKO – round 1 @ 1:23
– Alex Trevino defeats Isiah Hill by side choke – round 1 @ 3:56
Strikeforce shows continue to get better and the ref cam was a thing of beauty to give us a look at some key KOs. Who loved seeing Babalu’s eyes roll back as the lights went out? What goes around, you s.o.b.
