UFC 103: The Unimpressive Results

Belfort and Franklin, Franklin and Belfort…Einhorn is a man?
UFC 103 went down in D-Town last night and it was yet another non-title event…not that there’s anything wrong with that, except this time around things were distinctively blah. Here is what dropped:
– Vitor Belfort beats Rich Franklin by TKO – Round 1 @ 3:02
– Junior Dos Santos beats Mirko “Cro Cop” Filipovic by verbal sub – Round 3 @ 2:00
– Paul Daley beats Martin Kampmann by TKO – Round 1 @ 2:31
– Josh Koscheck beats Frank Trigg by TKO – Round 1 @ 1:25
– Tyson Griffin beats Hermes Franca by KO – Round 2 @ 3:26
– Efrain Escudero beats Cole Miller by TKO – Round 1 @ 3:36
– Tomasz Drwal beats Drew McFedries by rear naked choke sub – Round 2 @ 1:03
– Jim Miller beats Steve Lopez by TKO – Round 2 @ 0:48
– Nick Lentz beats Rafaello Oliveira by unanimous decision
– Rick Story beats Brian Foster by arm triangle choke sub – Round 2 @ 1:09
– Eliot Marshall beats Jason Brilz by split decision
– Vladimir Matyushenko beats Igor Pokrajac by unanimous decision
– Rafael Dos Anjos beats Rob Emerson by unanimous decision
The bonuses were $65k each and were equally boring. Brian Foster and Rick Story snagged Fight of the Night, with Story also securing Sub ‘o the Night.Vitor Belfort was the KO King of the Night after dropping Rich Franklin in the main event (watch it here). Cro Cop got a special award, Vagina of the Night after he quit in the 3rd Round. It also looks like Cro Cop is done in the UFC.
According to the report, the live gate in Dallas drew $2.4 million from the sellout crowd.
Here’s to looking forward to UFC 104 and some better action:
